Associate Professor
 |
|
|
Charles D. Creusere received his B.S.
in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of
California at Davis in 1985 and his M.S. and Ph.D. in the same
area from the University of California at Santa Barbara in 1990
and 1993, respectively.
After receiving his B.S., he went to work for the
Naval Weapons Center, China Lake, CA where he designed and tested
the guidance electronics for the Laser Guided Training Round
(LGTR) which was later transitioned to Loral for production.
In 1989 he was awarded a Fellowship from the DoD to attend graduate
school in Santa Barbara.
Dr. Creusere's research Santa Barbara University was
performed under the direction of Prof. Sanjit Mitra and focussed
on developing a novel and efficient class of multirate filter
banks with application to image and audio compression as well
as data scrambling and transmultiplexing.
Recently, Dr. Creusere participated in a NATO-sponsored
lecture series, presenting his lecture on the applications of
multirate digital signal processing to communications systems
in Germany, France, and the United States.
He has also received (along with his co-author) a
Certificate of Merit for the outstanding technical paper
entitled "Automatic target recognition directed image compression"
at the AIAA Missile Sciences Conference in November of 1998.
His current research interests include image, video, and audio
compression as well as fundamental theory in the area of multirate
digital signal processing. |
